A little bookish magic is coming to the Archive.

Join us for WITCH, PLEASE: A Bewitching Book Swap, a witchy night of mystery books, surprises, and fellow readers.

Bring a wrapped, gently loved book and let fate or a little magic... decide which story goes home with you.

This is a free event, but RSVP is required to participate.

How It Works

Bring one gently loved book in good condition, wrapped before you arrive.

Witchy wrapping is highly encouraged! Think moons and stars, potion bottles, black cats, spell books, celestial patterns, dark florals, black and gold, deep jewel tones, or anything that gives your mystery book a little magic.

We’ll host our fun blind “steal or keep” style exchange, where books can be unwrapped, kept, or stolen as the swap unfolds.

Optional: You're welcome to tuck a few small bookish goodies inside with your book, such as bookmarks, tea, stickers, annotation supplies, candy, or other little surprises. Goodies are always welcome, but never required.

What Kind of Books Can You Bring?

Your book does not have to be witchy, fantasy, or Halloween-themed. We welcome a wide range of fiction genres, including:

• Romance
• Dark romance
• Contemporary romance
• Romantasy & fantasy
• Sci-fi
• Mystery & thriller
• Historical fiction
• General fiction
• Horror & spooky reads

Books should be pre-loved and in good condition, with no missing pages, significant damage, or excessive wear.

Please bring a standalone book or Book One in a series only. We want everyone to leave with a book they can start reading right away, so please do not bring Book Two, Book Three, or any later installment in a series.
