Calling all book lovers, introverts, extroverts, and everyone in between!

We’re introducing something new at The Romantics Archive, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Join us for The Silent Reading Social, a cozy evening dedicated to good books, warm drinks, and making new bookish friends.

Imagine spending a Friday evening surrounded by fellow readers, sipping hot cocoa, enjoying a few sweet treats, and getting lost in whatever book you’re currently loving.

The best part? There’s no assigned book, no required reading, and absolutely no pressure.

Just bring yourself, your current read, and a love for stories.

How It Works

Our Silent Reading Social is a little different from a traditional book club.

Instead of everyone reading the same book, you’re welcome to bring whatever you’re currently reading. Romance, fantasy, mystery, thrillers, science fiction, literary fiction, or anything else you love!

We’ll start the evening with some time to mingle, meet other readers, and enjoy hot cocoa and light snacks.

Then, we’ll settle in for 30 minutes of quiet, uninterrupted reading.

Afterward, you’re welcome to stick around, chat about your books, exchange recommendations, make new friends, or browse the bookstore.

Whether you come with a friend or arrive on your own, we want this to feel like a welcoming little corner of the bookish community.

What to Expect

We’ll have hot cocoa and a few sweet treats available to enjoy throughout the evening.

MEET FELLOW READERS

Looking for bookish friends? This is a great opportunity to connect with people who share your love of reading.

30 MINUTES OF SILENT READING

Find a comfortable spot, open your book, and enjoy some peaceful reading time surrounded by people doing the exact same thing.

BOOKISH CONVERSATIONS

After our reading session, you’re welcome to socialize, share recommendations, or simply enjoy the atmosphere.

NO ASSIGNED BOOK

Bring whatever you’re reading! Physical books, e-readers, and audiobooks with headphones are all welcome.

Evening Schedule

6:30–7:00 PM | Cocoa & Community

Arrive, grab a warm drink, enjoy some snacks, and meet fellow readers.

7:00–7:30 PM | Silent Reading Time

Phones down, books open! We’ll spend 30 minutes reading together in a cozy, quiet environment.

7:30–8:00 PM | Socialize & Browse

Chat about your current reads, make new friends, exchange recommendations, or explore the bookstore.

• Please bring your own book, e-reader, or audiobook with headphones.
• There is no assigned reading or required book purchase.
• Hot cocoa and light snacks will be provided.
• You’re welcome to attend alone or bring a friend. Each attendee should reserve their own spot.
• Participation in conversations is always optional.
• Please silence your phone during our quiet reading session.
• Seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

If you RSVP and can no longer attend, please cancel your reservation so another reader has the opportunity to join us.
