The Gentlemen’s Book Club
November Pick: Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Humanity's last hope. A new world. An evolutionary experiment that changes everything.
For November, The Gentlemen’s Book Club is heading into deep space with Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky, an award-winning science fiction novel that explores survival, evolution, civilization, and what it truly means to be intelligent.
Join us for a relaxed evening of theories, favorite moments, big questions, and plenty of discussion as we explore one of science fiction's most fascinating imagined worlds.
About the Book
Humanity is on the brink of extinction, and the last survivors are searching the stars for a new home.
Their journey leads them to a distant planet that was once part of an ambitious terraforming experiment designed to create a new world for humanity.
But something went wrong.
Over thousands of years, an entirely different species has evolved, developing intelligence, complex societies, technology, and a civilization of its own.
Now, as the last remnants of humanity approach the planet, two civilizations are headed toward a collision that could determine the future of both.
Children of Time is the first book in the Children of Time series, blending hard science fiction, evolutionary biology, space exploration, and thought-provoking questions about intelligence, survival, and the future of civilization.
