Join us at The Romantics Archive for a spooky night of books, surprises, and community at GHOSTED: A Spooky Book Swap.

Bring a wrapped, gently loved book and leave with a mystery read chosen by fate... or stolen from another reader.

This is a free event, but RSVP is required to participate.

How It Works

Bring one gently loved book in good condition, wrapped before you arrive.

Spooky wrapping is highly encouraged! Think ghosts, bats, black cats, spiderwebs, Halloween colors, creepy-cute patterns, or anything that gives your mystery book a little spooky personality.

We’ll host our fun blind “steal or keep” style exchange, where books can be unwrapped, kept, or stolen as the swap unfolds.

Optional: You're welcome to tuck a few small bookish goodies inside with your book, such as bookmarks, tea, stickers, annotation supplies, candy, or other little surprises. Goodies are always welcome, but never required.

What Kind of Books Can You Bring?

Your book does not have to be spooky or Halloween-themed. We welcome a wide range of fiction genres, including:

• Romance
• Dark romance
• Contemporary romance
• Romantasy & fantasy
• Sci-fi
• Mystery & thriller
• Historical fiction
• General fiction
• Horror & spooky reads

Books should be pre-loved and in good condition, with no missing pages, significant damage, or excessive wear.

Please bring a standalone book or Book One in a series only. We want everyone to leave with a book they can start reading right away, so please do not bring Book Two, Book Three, or any later installment in a series.

Because this is a free event with limited space, please cancel your RSVP if your plans change so another reader has the opportunity to attend.
