A November Book Swap

Good food. Great books. Even better company.

We’re celebrating Friendsgiving the best way we know how: surrounded by good books and even better people!

Join us at The Romantics Archive for FRIENDSGIVING: BOOKISH EDITION, a cozy evening of mystery books, delicious treats, new friendships, and a little friendly competition over which book everyone wants to take home.

This is our regular book swap with a little Friendsgiving twist!

We’ll be providing snacks and treats for everyone to enjoy, and if you’d like to bring a small appetizer, dessert, or snack to share, we’d absolutely love that!

Bringing food is completely optional. All you need to participate is one wrapped, gently loved book.

This is a free event, but RSVP is required.

How It Works

Bring one gently loved book in good condition, wrapped before you arrive.

Feel free to get creative with your wrapping! Think warm autumn colors, cozy patterns, falling leaves, or anything that gives your mystery book a little seasonal charm.

We’ll host our usual fun blind “steal or keep” style exchange, where books can be unwrapped, kept, or stolen as the swap unfolds.

We’ll also have time to enjoy some treats, meet fellow readers, and celebrate our bookish community together.

Optional Bookish Goodies: You’re welcome to tuck a few small surprises inside with your wrapped book, such as bookmarks, tea, stickers, annotation supplies, candy, or other little goodies. These are always welcome but never required.

A Little Friendsgiving Fun!

We’re adding something special to this month’s book swap!

The Romantics Archive will provide snacks and treats for everyone to enjoy during the event.

If you’re able and would like to contribute, you’re welcome to bring a small dish to share with fellow readers.

Some ideas include:

• Cookies, brownies, or other desserts
• Chips, dips, or finger foods
• Small appetizers
• Fruit or snack trays
• Your favorite homemade or store-bought treats

Please don’t feel obligated to bring anything! We want everyone to feel welcome, whether you arrive with a plate of cookies or just your wrapped book.

If you do bring something to share, please label it with the ingredients or common allergens when possible.

What Kind of Books Can You Bring?

Your book does not have to be fall-themed, Thanksgiving-related, or seasonal. We welcome a wide range of fiction genres, including:

• Romance
• Dark romance
• Contemporary romance
• Romantasy & fantasy
• Sci-fi
• Mystery & thriller
• Historical fiction
• General fiction
• Horror & spooky reads

Books should be pre-loved and in good condition, with no missing pages, significant damage, or excessive wear.

Please bring a standalone book or Book One in a series only. We want everyone to leave with a book they can start reading right away, so please do not bring Book Two, Book Three, or any later installment in a series.

• Please do not bring later books in a series.
• Wrapping must be completed before arrival.

• Your book does not have to match the Friendsgiving theme.
• Bringing food is completely optional. Refreshments will be provided by The Romantics Archive.
• Homemade or store-bought snacks, appetizers, and desserts are welcome if you’d like to contribute.
• Optional bookish goodies are welcome but never required.
• Space is limited.

Because this is a free event with limited space, please cancel your RSVP if your plans change so another reader has the opportunity to attend.
